Financial markets interest me greatly. The business areas involving trading, clearing, settlement and custody are of particular interest. Since 2012 I have also been very committed to studying how cryptocurrencies and the underlying blockchain technology can improve the exchanges. Finding ways to connect the standard financial market with the emerging blockchain technology is a great challenge which I enjoy working on every day. Trent McConaghy is an AI researcher and entrepreneur with long term vision. He is co-founder & CTO of ascribe, which is rewiring the internet for ownership on behalf of creators, using large-scale machine learning and blockchain tech. Before that, he co-founded Solido, which uses AI for developing next-gen computer chips and has become a linchpin in driving Moore’s Law. Before that, he co-founded ADA for AI-based chip design; it was acquired in 2004. Trent has written two books and 50 papers+patents. His award-winning PhD explored the relation between automated creativity and engineering design practice. Greg McMullen is Chief Policy Officer for ascribe.io. He is called to the bar in British Columbia, Canada, and spent 5 years as a litigator with one of Canada’s top class action law firms before joining ascribe. In his legal practice, Greg combined his interest in technology, privacy, and intellectual property law with his class proceedings practice. He worked on class action lawsuits against Facebook and the Government of Canada alleging privacy violations, and against Teranet (the private company managing the Ontario land registry) alleging copyright infringement.
